# Heimdall

Talk to your Mac. Every job you mention starts at once.

Heimdall is a free, open-source (Apache-2.0) assistant for Macs with Apple silicon, by Toby NoSkillSon. It listens all
day and wakes when you say its name. Speech is transcribed on the Mac. Each job you mention runs as its own agent
thread in T3 Code (Claude Code or Codex), or on a local model, and shows as a small black island at the edge of the
screen with its progress. It asks you only when a job needs your answer.

## How it works
1. You say it, out loud.
2. An agent takes it: one agent and one island per job, side by side.
3. It asks only when it must: risky steps wait for one click.

## What it does
- A picture for every job: each island draws what matters, a score, a frame, a count.
- No wake word: its own model, Heimdall D1 V6 (https://huggingface.co/Toby-NoSkillSon/heimdall-d1-v6), hears when you mean it.
- Answers out loud.
- Your plan, on the left: Goals and Scheduled keep themselves current.
- Local models through Arsenal 1.0.2: speech, images and film run on your Mac.

## Privacy
On the Mac: microphone, speech to text, speaker recognition, the decision to wake the agent, spoken replies, memory
search, every recording (in a folder you choose). Sent to the agent provider you chose: the words of your requests,
transcript text for background jobs you turn on, and a screenshot when you say "look at this". Audio never leaves.
With a local model nothing leaves except the downloads you start. No analytics.

## What you need
A Mac with Apple silicon on macOS 14.4 or later (26 recommended), plus a Claude or ChatGPT subscription, or a local model if the Mac has the memory (about 48 GB).
